The 7 days Gosaikunda trekking is a sacred trekking destination in the northeast of Kathmandu. There are 3 major beautiful Holy lakes situated on the top of the Gosaikunda hill, Where many local pilgrims and foreigner visits every day and worships. Season ways summer season June and July, there will be many visitors. It is about 10 days beautiful guided trekking route in the Langtang region.

The Gosaikunda trekking route is relatively easy and scenic. It is connected from Kathmandu to Trisuli similarly to Trisuli to Dhunche through the road. Walking to Gosaikunda's top ridge begins from Dhunche following the small walking path through some villages, beautiful terrace fields, juniper, and Rhododendron forest.

On this majestic trekking path, our first destination will be Langtang, similarly, Gosaikunda pass, Kutumsang, Tharepati than Phedi as it is a common trekking path but some trekkers still finish this trek to Sundarijal via Chisapani.

The holy 7 days Gosaikunda trekking offers a magical mesmerizing view of the Langtang range, experience cultural encounters from the Tamang community, visit monasteries, a cheese factory at Sing Gompa, and authentic trekking and hiking experiences in Langtang park.


During the Gosaikunda trekking in the Langtang region, you will have local tea houses where you can have a private room with twin sharing beds, a tea table, and a comfortable mattress in the room. As you know that Gosaikunda is a remote area trek, therefore, don’t expect a Luxury hotel or fancy eating, restaurant, however, it is wonderful moderate trekking where you can get a private room with a locker system, share a bathroom, better charge plug will not be in the room, you have to charge at the dining hall at a specific area.

The Best time to go to the Gosaikunda trek:

The 7 Days Gosaikunda trekking is not only a trekking and hiking destination but is also a popular religious place. If you are interested to explore the Festival ceremony around the holy lake of Gosaikunda then June is the month to visit otherwise just for trekking or hiking experiences then September to Early December and February. This trek is highly recommended in June because you can see all the Authentic cultural things, Mountain View, and really more peaceful than other trekking months.

7 Days Gosaikunda trekking Outline

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche (1,966 m.)–6 hrs,

Day 02: Trek to Sing Gompa,

Day 03: Trek to Gosaikunda (4,380 m.) via Lauribinayak La (3,920 m.)–5 hrs walking,

Day 04: Trek to Lauribinayak Pass (4,610 m.) then walk to Ghopte (3,430 m.),

Day 05: Trek to Kutumsang (2,446 m), -5 hrs walk,

Day 06: Trek to Chisopani (2,150 m)- 5 hrs,

Day 07: Trek to Sundarijal and drive to Kathmandu.

Day by Day Itinerary

We will have breakfast at the Hotel, then drive 10 minutes to catch the bus at the Naya Bus Park (Machhapokhari, Balaju) with your Guide. It is about 6 hours scenic driving throughout the village's farm land, Rivers and Beautiful Trisuli mountain town, where we stop about 30 minutes for food, then continues drive to Dunche. It is a beautiful small Bazar where we will stay in the Lodge Overnight.

We take an early breakfast at the lodge then, We continue our daily journey to Sing Gompa following the stone made ascending route, The 3 hours gentle ascents we reach Deurali tea shop where we can have some rest or maybe a cup of tea and enjoy the picturesque view. We trek through the forest of fir, oak, Hemlock after Deurali for about 2 to 3 hours, then we reach at Beautiful sing Gompa/Chandanbari, where we can get a bunch of tea house accommodations to stay overnight.

Sing Gompa is a popular place for the cheese factory and many lodges to stop therefore many trekkers stop here for the night, but few of them who have still desired to walk more than they continue going to Lauribinayak, however, the view of Gosaikunda, Langtang, and Ganesh Himal from SingGompa is just outstanding.

Again, we take an early breakfast at the lodge at Sing Gompa then we take a constant uphill trail to Cholangpati, through the similar forest scenery like yesterday. After passing Cholangpati we continue our journey to Lauribinayak, which is located at 3920 m from where you can enjoy the breathtaking views of Gosaikunda lakes, Ganesh Himal(7,406 m) Manaslu(8,156 m), Himal Chuli and other so many peaks and green rolling hills to the other side.

Likewise, when you reach at Gosaikunda you can see icy lakes, but culturally there are 3 major lakes The Bhairab Kunda, Gosaikunda & Saraswati Kunda, All Of them are Prevalent.

From Gosaikunda lake the trekking route we follow to the north side, crossing a bit Glacial, Lakes than the trail takes us at Lauri Binayak la (4,610 m/15,212 ft) (4.64 Km) which is quite high after that we descent to the Bhera Goth (4,240 m), where we have to check it our permit and to Phedi (3,740 m). Trekking route after Phedi going to be quite sloped uphill passing some bamboo buses than reach at Dupichaur than descending to Ghopte Vir, we stay overnight here at the lodge.

Trekking to Tharepati is an another pleasant day following the several ascending routes and some descending passing some moraines after that we reach to Heavenly make hill op Tharepati. It is one of the best sport of this trek as it is situated on the very high hill and the view from there is just magical, we can see Sisapangma which is bordered by Tibet and Nepal over 8,000 m high and rolling green hills to the other side of the lodge. We stay at lodge.

Today we just walk through the forest most of the time descending to Magen goth (3,420 m), likewise trail goes down to Kutumsang(2,420 m) after we continue walk following the descending trail to Gul Bhanjayng, it is beautiful settlements near the river where we stay a night at Lodge.

We begin the day early again like other days, our hiking today proceeds with the forested superiority Moving towards the Thodang Betini (2,260 m) and then to Chiplung village. After passing those villages we steeply plummet the route takes you to Pati Bhanjyang (1,860 m) then we follow the trail ascending to Chisapani, it is also a day hike destination from Kathmandu as it is a beautiful spot to explore the massif Himalaya range of Langtang.

Again, we were mesmerized view from Chisapani hilltop after breakfast, then we follow the oak & Rhododendron forest To Borlang Bhanjayng, after that we walk Down hill to Check Post where we have to check in our permit of Sivapuri national park than to Sundarijal via Mukkharka Village. Once we reach at Sundarijal we take a private car/jeep than drive to Kathmandu, it is about an hour drive.
