The Australian camp & Sarankot hiking is for 2 night 3 days so our one night we will spend in a tea house at Australian Camp here you are surrounded by so much snow cap peaks than in our 2nd day we will spend the night at Sarangkot which is popular spot for sunrise view so in the morning before we head down to Pokhara we will have an admirable sunrise view over Annapurna & Dhaulagiri range.

Permits: 

Australian Camp & Sarankot Hiking are a short hiking destination near Pokhara and it is a lower loop easy hiking journey of the Annapurna trekking region. The entrance permits are required for Australian Camp & Sarankot Hiking but only for Dhampus day hike or Sarangkot day hike, you don't need to have an entry permit.

The entry permit cost: $30 US and TIMs card cost $10 US, but the cost of TIMs for individual trekkers is a bit more cost $20 US.

Weather:

Australian Camp & Sarankot Hiking can be done in any months in a year, but relatively during the autumn season (Sep. - Nov.) and Spring season ( March to May) are the best time to trek because almost every single day, the sky is clear, the visibility is so clear, which means you can see wonderful mountain views, the valleys  are so green which is photogenic, rare case of raining and freshness of the entire environment. However, weather ways September to November and March to May are the best trekking months for Australian Camp & Sarankot Hiking trip.

Day by Day Itinerary

Drive from Pokhara to Kande then we begin to walk as it is beautiful to drive passing some wonderful high green mountains and villages. The total driving time will be about 45 minutes from Pokhara then we catch the small trails along the forest upwards hill to Australian camp. Australian camp is situated on the top of the mountain from where you can see 180 Degree views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri & Paradise Valley. It is about 4 hours walk today in a pristine nature and village.

We take our breakfast in the lodge then we start our journey to Sarangkot. All the way to Phedi via Dhampus it is all downhill through some Gurung villages and forest, but this day will be quite warm as you are descending to a lower altitude. 3 hours walk from the Australian camp to Phedi we have to get a short drive from Phedi to Sarangkot hill, it is about 25-minute drive than we walk up about 30 to 40-minute final walk to reach Sarangkot lodge. Sarangkot is one of the popular spots for sunrise where hundreds of travelers' visits. Our total walk, today will be about 4 hours, then we reach beautiful Sarangkot. When you sit down on the chair in Sarangkot you can see the whole Pokhara valley and Phewa Lake.

Today before breakfast we have to go to the top hill station of Saragkot which is a stunning place to observe the valley and peaks especially the sunrise from Sarangkot will be indescribable. It is an only 10-minute climb from your lodge to get to the top, then we can see the awesome view, then we go back to the hotel for breakfast after we head down to Pokhara via khahare.

Today we will reach in Pokhara quite early so if you are interested to explore the city and visit major places around we can make few hours sightseeing trip.

Essential Information

​Location of Australian camp and Sarangkot hiking?

Australian camp and Sarangkot lies in the Midwest of Kathmandu about 250 KM so it is a popular hiking route in Nepal. This hiking is near Pokhara, however, An hour drive takes you to Kande it is where we begin our walk to Australian camp and the next day we trek to Sarangkot via Dhampus village.


​How much do I need for Australian camp and Sarangkot hiking?

It is quite a cheap area to hike as it is close to the road and city. Your proper walking days will be 3 days and the rest will be transport and accommodation in the city so if you are less than 5 people in your group this trip will cost about 299 USD But for single trekkers will cost even more it cost 450 USD.


​What do I need for Australian camp and Sarangkot Hiking?

It is easy and short hiking, trail so you just need to bring your essential clothes and light bag pack. You don’t need even sleeping bags and down jackets, because it is lower loop area trek is quite warm during the day only in the morning and evening you have to wear a warm jacket. If just need to bring two pairs of T-shirt, a pair of socks, sandal, sun glass, sun cream, cap/hat, half comfortable paint, simple jacket that’s all you need to complete Australian camp and Sarangkot hiking.


​About foods

During this hike, you can have many foods. The area where we are going is already a touristy area so there are menu systems and there are verities of food options such continental, Indian, Tibetan, Nepali, and Mexican.

The price of food is not same in each lodge as per the verities there is different cost. Generally for one meal you have to manage 3 to 7 USD and the mineral water cost about 1$ per liter.


​Accommodation?

This trekking is only around the lower parts of the Annapurna conservation area. The accommodations are quite nice, almost like the city because you can have a private bathroom with hot shower, clean and comfortable bed, quiet room and mostly view side rooms during your trek and in the city, you will have 2 or 3-star category hotel including breakfast.
