Day by Day Itinerary

Your Gosaikunda Trek begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche, the gateway to the Langtang and Gosaikunda trekking region. You can travel by shared bus or private jeep, depending on your budget and comfort preference. The journey takes around 7–9 hours, depending on traffic, road conditions, and stops along the way. A private jeep provides greater comfort and flexibility, while the shared bus is a more economical option.

After breakfast in Dhunche Bazaar, we begin our trek toward Sing Gompa, also known as Chandan Bari. The trail gradually climbs through peaceful forests of pine, oak, and rhododendron, with fresh mountain air and beautiful views along the way.

The route is mostly uphill, so today is a short but steady walking day. As we gain altitude, the surrounding landscape becomes quieter and more alpine, offering a pleasant introduction to the higher sections of the Gosaikunda Trek.

We arrive at Sing Gompa (Chandan Bari), a small mountain settlement known for its monastery and local cheese production. After checking into the teahouse, you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and mountain atmosphere.

Overnight at Sing Gompa/Chandan Bari.

After breakfast at Sing Gompa (Chandan Bari), we continue our trek toward the sacred Gosaikunda Lake. The trail gradually climbs through alpine forests before opening into rugged mountain landscapes, with increasingly impressive views of the surrounding peaks.

As we climb higher, we reach Lauribina Yak, one of the highest points on the trail. From here, the landscape changes dramatically, with rocky hills, high-altitude meadows, and spectacular views toward Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and other Himalayan peaks on clear days.

The trail then continues across the high-altitude terrain toward the Gosaikunda Lakes. Along the way, we pass several smaller sacred lakes, including Saraswatikunda and Bhairab Kunda, before reaching the magnificent Gosaikunda Lake at 4,380 m.

Gosaikunda is one of Nepal's most important sacred pilgrimage sites, particularly revered by Hindu and Buddhist devotees. We spend the evening beside the beautiful turquoise lake, surrounded by rugged mountains, and stay overnight at a local teahouse near Gosaikunda.

After breakfast at Gosaikunda, we begin an exciting high-altitude walk toward Lauribina Pass. The trail follows the rugged landscape around the sacred lakes before climbing steadily toward the pass, with spectacular views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks.

Crossing Lauribina Pass (around 4,600 m) is one of the major highlights of the Gosaikunda Trek. From the pass, we enjoy panoramic mountain scenery and look back toward the Gosaikunda lake area. The trail can be rocky and challenging, particularly in snow or icy conditions.

After crossing the pass, we begin a long descent toward Phedi, passing through rugged alpine terrain and open mountain landscapes. As we lose altitude, the scenery gradually changes, making the walk a rewarding combination of challenging climbs, dramatic mountain views, and peaceful wilderness.

We arrive at Phedi, where we rest and spend the night at a local teahouse. The evening is a good opportunity to relax after completing one of the most memorable sections of the Gosaikunda Trek.

After breakfast in Phedi, we continue our journey through the beautiful highland landscape of the Langtang–Gosaikunda region. The trail gradually descends through rugged terrain and peaceful mountain surroundings, with occasional views of the surrounding hills and Himalayan peaks.

As we move farther from the high-altitude lakes, the landscape becomes greener and more varied. The trail passes through alpine meadows, rocky sections, and forested areas, giving us a chance to experience the changing scenery as we descend to a lower elevation.

We continue toward Talu, a quiet mountain settlement along the trekking route. The walk is generally more comfortable than the previous high-altitude section, although some sections can still be steep and uneven.

After reaching Talu, we check into a local teahouse and home saty and have time to relax and enjoy the peaceful mountain surroundings. Overnight at Talu.

After breakfast in Talu, we continue our trek toward Sisyphu, a peaceful and traditional Tamang village. The trail gradually descends through beautiful forests and green hills, with occasional views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

As we approach Sisyphu, the landscape becomes greener and more settled. Along the way, we pass through small local communities, terraced fields, and forested sections, giving us a closer look at the traditional rural lifestyle of the Tamang people.

Arriving at Sisyphu, we have the opportunity to experience the warm hospitality and simple village lifestyle of the local Tamang community. The village provides a quieter and more authentic cultural experience away from the busier trekking routes.

We check into a local teahouse or homestay and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. You can spend the evening exploring the village, meeting local people, or simply relaxing after the day's walk.

After breakfast in Sisyphu, we say goodbye to the local Tamang community and begin our scenic drive back to Kathmandu. The road passes through green hills, traditional villages, terraced farmland, and winding mountain landscapes.

As we continue toward Kathmandu, the scenery gradually changes from peaceful rural countryside to the lively surroundings of the Kathmandu Valley. The drive provides a relaxing opportunity to enjoy the landscapes after completing the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek.

After approximately 3–4 hours of driving, we arrive in Kathmandu and transfer you to your hotel, marking the end of your memorable trekking journey.
