The Nar Phu valley trek is one of the newly opened trekking routes located in the west north of Kathmandu. This beautiful trekking provides you immense opportunities to get close to local traditions, Culture, Towering peaks, and in one word it is the Alluring trekking region of Nepal.
Nar-Phu valley trek is inhabited by Tibetan people and their culture, however, this trip offers you to visit the Tibetan Village, Unbelievable Landscapes & Rocks, Vast Himalayan terrain, Grazing, Narrow Trekking paths, and magical Valley.
The Nar Phu valley trek begins from Kathmandu with a bus drive to Besisahar then we follow the popular trekking path of Annapurna circuit till we reach The pass then we follow the narrow trekking path which is the less trekked route and passing many wonderful landscapes and rugged roads.
On this trek, you will have a delightful time as you will get so many opportunities to know about many new and unknown things regarding the different Nature, Flora, and fauna.
This trip has few alternative options to go over the pass and link to Manang but the easiest way is through Thorang-la pass which is the most popular trekking route in Nepal but the if you are more e quite trekkers who love more natural and don’t like that crowd then follow the trail to Tilicho lake make the Kang la pass then follow the route of Nar-Phu valley trek.
The Nar-Phu valley trek itself is heaven can’t compare to other parts of Nepal, has very old natural caves, the dry and towering mountains, The Kali Gandaki river valley all of them mixed it and Became Nar-Phu Valley Trek.
Best time to Nar-Phu Valley Trek
The Nar-Phu Valley trek is always possible in a year, but the most beautiful and safe trekking time is in autumn (Sep. – Nov.) & Spring (March-May). In these times, there are very few chances of Landslides, avalanches, and heavy rainfall. Furthermore, the temperature is warm and Weather will be Very clear every day, stable, enough Visibilities for the view, lush valley view is the best part of those seasons. However, the spring and autumn two seasons are the beautiful time to visit the Nar-Phu Valley trek in Nepal.
Nar-Phu Valley trek Permits:
The cost of the permit is different in autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May). If you trek to Narphu valley during the autumn season, the permit costs $90 US per week per head; likewise In the Spring season costs $75 US per week per head. The two different seasons is a suitable time for trekking in Narphu valley, but if you trek from December to August the cost of the permit is $75 per week per head.

01
You Arrive in Kathmandu 1,300 m/4,428 ft (1.35 Km)
25 Min Drive Dinner Hotel
Myself will be there at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu to pick up you than with our private car/jeep we will take you to your Hotel. You can have some rest if you are tired after many hours of flight, if not after you checked in to the hotel we can explore the city around and eat dinner together in the evening. This evening we can talk about your trip, what we have to do On the mountain, trek preparation, our safety types of subjects we will talk at Dinner time.

Drive from Kathmandu to Jagat Village 1,100 m/3,608 ft (1.1 Km)

Today we begin our trek from Kathmandu. We take an early Bus from Kathmandu to Jagat straight as we have planned. It is quite long drive where we have to go half-way about on a rough off-road thus, it takes nearly 8 to 9 hours, but Bus will stop a couple of time for toilet and food.
It is quite long drive but you can enjoy already the scenic view, lovely local farm lands, Countryside local house, people, not and clean river, waterfalls and many interesting landscapes while driving to Jagat. We stay one night at Jagat.

Walk from Jagat to Dharapani 1,960 m/6,430 ft (ca.2 Km)

Our walk from Jagat after breakfast will be very easy that we follow the small trekking route on a downhill to the river and next we trek through the forest and stunning landscapes. Furthermore, we trek continues on a massif mountain cliff facing the Lovely river bank. Our pleasant walk slowly takes us to Chyamje, as it is beautiful little village with lovely view around.
After passing Chyamje, we have to cross a well-made suspension bridge than trek steeply towards Sattale, but it is quite challenging path, you need to be careful while you are walking. On steeping on a chain of rocky path than we trek on a descending route, whereas grassy bank of River, that route takes you to the little village Tal. We still walk towards Dharapani passing wind and rugged trail that reach to the Forested Karte village. The route is just very short now after passing the Katrte village to Dharapani.

Lovely walk from Dharapani to Koto Village 2,610 m/8,563 ft (2.61 Km)

We trek on an easy route through the pine forest to Reach Bagarchhap, it is pleasant walk that will take an hour. It is where we visit A white washed monastery as it is beautifully made and cultural decoration from monks than our mission continue walk next 1 hour to reach Danaque than after follow the route going very steep to Timang. It is perfect spot to enjoy the view of Mt. Manaslu and Peak 29. The trekking trail from here goes through forest again for the next 1.30 hours than reach at Latamarang village. It is where most of the hikers stops for lunch than amusing route ahead to Koto villages passing Forest and magical view of Annapurna 2nd.

We begin our walk from Koto to Meta (3,560 m/11,680 ft (3.56 Km)

We take an early breakfast and check in our trekking permit at the Police check post (there) than trek ahead towards Dharmasala. It is another peaceful day with a lovely nature view, along the Soti Khola, forest and suspension bridge.
Today there is no place to have lunch, thus, we must have our own packed lunch and walk through the forest on a steep trail that will take us to Meta Village. Our long walking journey throughout the wonderful nature finally takes us to Meta, from where we have the great view of Lamjung Himal and Annapurna II.

Morning walk from Meta to Phu Gaon (4,250 m/13,944 ft (4.25 Km)

Today on our way to Phu Gaon we have to cross quite some bridge going up and down but another beautiful day. When we walk about 4 hours from Meta we reach at the Cultural Kyang Village, it is where we can see typical Tibeatn people and their Settlements than walk continue to reach Phu Khola than walking on a rugged trail, the next we reach final at Phu Gaon after 3 hours walk.

We will have Acclimatization day at Phu Gaon today

According to our itinerary and plan, here we are resting today to get acclimatized. Phu Gaon is an unspoiled hidden valley where there are so many unique things to see and explore with locals. There are few different ethnicities such Ghale, Gurung and Lama, all of them have their own language, culture and way of living but, they are all friendly open people. The next there is also a place to visit very old 105 world’s great Monastery from Buddhism. However, Today we are here not only to rest, we are here also to explore the cultural Monastry, Local life, traditional farming and sky touching snow cap mountains.

Trek from grate Phu Gaon to Nar (4,110 m/13,484 ft (ca. 4 Km)

After leaving Phu Gaon we are crossing quite some suspension bridges till we reach at Mahendra Pul that is all about 3 to 4 hours to reach Mahendrapul than we take lunch, after that there will steep trail passing Buddhist Chortains takes about 2 hours walk than reach Nar.

Acclimatization and preparation at Nar

It is whereas per our schedule, we are taking rest/ acclimatization. There is some place to make sight walk if you are not so tired and explore the beautiful landscapes and unspoiled Region.

We are walking from Nar to Kang La Pass (5,322 m/17,460 ft) (5.32 Km) to Ngwal (3,660 m/12,008 ft.) (3.66 Km)

I think today is relatively an adventure day because we are crossing high Kang la pass and long walking day, therefore we have to leave quite early this morning From Nar. Once we reach to the top of the pass, the view of the Annapurna mountain range are just killing, indescribable we then head down to Ngwal, to spend the night.

Trek from Ngwal to popular Manang Village (3,540 m/11,614 ft) (3.54 Km)
4 to 5 Hrs Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Lodge
Today we are heading to Beautiful Manang village. We trek through isolated small villages, superintending the magical view of entire Himalayan range of this region and walk continue up to Mungli, it is where we join the major trail of Annapurna circuit trek than after we have short walk to reach Manang Village.

Trek from Manang to Yak Kharka (4,110 m/13,484 ft) (ca.4 Km)
3 to 4 Hrs Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Tea House/Lodge
Spending such a great Night at Manang Village we have to cross the small stream that trail leads us steeply up to Tenki. From here we trek continues along Marshyagdi River Valley towards the Northwest then we reach Jarsang Khola. From this place the route goes thought Juniper trees and Some Pastures, the next from here we trek through the Ghunsa, it is small beautiful place. The trail still leads us through the wonderful landscapes, Yak and Horse grazing place, crossing wooden made small bridge that we reach to our destination- Yak Kharka.

We walk today from Yak Kharka the Thorong Phedi (4,600 m/15,092 ft) (4.6 Km)

Our Team heads to Thorong Phedi Today, After early breakfast at Yak Kharka. Thorong Phedi is a small busy place where hundreds of people stay before crossing the Thorong pass. Some trekkers still walk further up to stay at High camp, to make easy day tomorrow, but if you are not really fit enough, you are highly suggested staying at Thorong Phedi for your safety. We stay at Thorong Phedi today in the tea house and prepare for the big day tomorrow.

Thorong Phedi to Muktinath (3,800 m/12,467 ft) (3.8 Km) via Thorong La (5,416 m/17764 ft) (5.41 Km)

The most exciting and adventure day is today that we begin after a warm breakfast at Thorong Phedi. A Few hours till the top of the Thorong pass which is located at Dizzying height of 5,416 m. Once you reach there to the top of Thorong la, the entire Annapurna mountain range is just phenomenal, similar the rolling mountains view around.
From The top of Thorong la we trek continue downhill towards Historical and cultural place the Muktinath. It is where we will spend our Night in the Lodge.

Easy pleasant walk from Muktinath to Jomsom (2,715 m/8,910 ft) (2.72 Km)
5 to 6 Hrs. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Lodge
From Muktinath, we follow the pleasant, easy downhill trail, mostly on the off-road, but the view towards Jomsom, Kaligandaki Gorge and Kagbeni will be indescribable and picturesque arid landscapes. After few hours easy walk takes us straight down to Eklebhatti, as it is located at the bank of Kaligandaki River, then we just follow the easy flat road trail along the valley to reach Jomsom. We stay one night there at Jomsom.

Early morning flight from Jomsom to Pokhara (8,27 m/2,700 ft)

There is early morning flight only at Jomsom because Jomsom is the windiest place in Nepal which means after 11 am there is risk to fly thus, we are also flying also in the morning after breakfast. The Jomsom airport is very small and close from the lodge. It is 25 minute scenic flights over the magical mountain range. Once we reach in Pokhara we can have a rest for a few hours and later on we can go to city excursion, you may go for boating, on Fewa lake, and also visit Barahi Tample as it is a popular Hindu temple in Pokhara. After all, we all go for dinner, and we celebrate our successful trekking.

Bus drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,300 m/4,428 ft) (1.3 Km)

We take a Tourist bus at 7.30 am from lakeside Pokhara to Kathmandu. It is 7 hours journey approximately. After reaching Kathmandu, you can go for last minute shopping, and we take a farewell dinner. We expect your feedback and suggestions if there is any.
Your holiday for this time in Nepal comes to end today. I will drop you to the airport about three Hours before your Flight scheduled. Hope you had a wonderful time in the mountain and gain something from us. Hope to see you again in the coming future.
