Best Budget Trek in Nepal- Ghorepani Poon hill Trek

Hey, it’s Patricia from England! Just wanted to share my awesome 7-day trek in Nepal – did Ghorepani Poon Hill and Ghandruk. Started from Kathmandu and it was such a fantastic experience! Found this cool local trekking agency on Google, and after checking out their great reviews, I messaged Mr. Santosh Gauli, the manager. Quick response and lots of price options. Decided to go with Safe Holiday Adventure Team, and they nailed it! More than 15 years of experience showed – everything was super organized. The weather at Ghorepani Poon Hill was breathtaking, and we got to see 12 mountains, even Dhaulagiri, the 7th highest peak! Our guide, Rupesh, was a champ. Maybe quiet, but super smart. My Everest base camp trek was the best adventure Journey Ever!!!

I and my girlfriend decided to visit Nepal but we never been there, therefore, we search on google, Nepal Everest guide then we found Mr. Gauli, who organize all our trips from Kathmandu-Everest base camp –Kathmandu so we did not have to do anything. Doing the Poon Hill trek with Santosh was one of the highlights of my traveling life. The scenery was amazing, with a range of gardens, forests, and alpine views. But I can’t recommend Santosh’s leadership with greater enthusiasm. He has years of experience making people feel comfortable and it showed. When I decided to g to Nepal, I heard a lot about the Khopra trek and I research a lot about Khopra ridge than finally, I decide to do the Khopra trek. I found one recommend travel agency freelance guide and a director Mr. Gauli. I talk to him and he just sent me all the trip details including the itinerary and price, I compare also the price with a travel agency in Nepal, but Gauli gave me a reasonable price and I trek with them. They provide me a guide, Santu who have guided me to Khopra he explains to me a lot about Nepal and Khopra trek, I really had a wonderful time in the Himalayas of the Annapurna region. we had just a magical view all the time, especially from Khopra ridge. I wish I will come back very so and trek another beautiful trek Mardi Himal. However, Khopra trekking is more natural, peaceful, and one of the best trekking routes in Nepal. Me and my husband we are both over 40 years old we hike to Gokyo trekking with a local mountain guide (Santosh Gauli). we had 14 days time for this trek which was enough to acclimatize and city tour in Kathmandu valley. we were planning to go to Everest base camp but after we change our mind because of our guide Santosh as he said base camp trek is really crowded and busy, we were very happy to go to Gokyo trek as it is one of my best travel destinations, we could see high mountains, including mt Everest, lakes, glacier, and Gokyo RI. the entire trekking experience was just wonderful and we had a great trip, Thank you Santosh Gauli and your perfect management for our trek, I really hope we can come back again for another lovely trek. Short Hike near Kathmandu

In March 2012, I did a 3 days trek in Kathmandu with 3 of my friends in Nepal using the below itinerary. It was a very scenic route going through villages and farmlands giving us an opportunity to observe the local lifestyle. This trek is also very manageable for most people as this is my first time doing such long treks. We had an experienced guide with us, Mr. Santosh Gauli, and a porter named Bhimsen Rijal (or just call Bhim) who also happen to be a guide at EBC but working part-time as a porter during our visit to Nepal. They are both very responsible, entertaining and they definitely made our trekking experience much pleasant and safe. They were also very encouraging during difficult times for example there was a 9 hours trek one day from Chisapani to Nagarkot. I would definitely recommend them for your future trekking trips in Nepal as they have more than 10 years of working experience and very familiar with the mountain routes in Everest and Annapurna.

Day 01: Drive Kathmandu to Sundarijal and hike to Chisapani- 4 hours. We will drive to Sundarijal which takes about an hour and we start our hiking, the trail gradually up with pine and oak forest, this Shivapuripuri National park is a good spot for bird watching and some other wild animals can be seen during the hiking. From Chisapani we will see a panoramic view of the Himalayas and the valley. And this is the resident of the Sherpa ethnic group; this is the nearest place from Kathmandu where we will the culture and the lifestyle of Sherpa indigenous, overnight at lodge. Day 02: Hiking from Chisapani to Nagarkot (2,175m) – 5- 6 hours: Morning the northern mountain views attract you our hiking start to Chauki Bhanjag after having breakfast, which takes about 2 and half hours and we will stop here for an hour for our lunch. We continue the charming trails lead 3 hours toward Nagarkot. (Walking 5/6 hrs) Nagarkot, (2,nga175m) is by far the most popular.

In the clear weather the Himalaya range, stretching from Dhaulagiri in the west all the way past Everest to Kanchenjunga in the east emerges from the darkness to greet the happy visitor with its awe-inspiring majesty and beauty, overnight at the hotel. Day 03: Hike from Nagarkot to Chagunarayan Temple and drive Kathmandu- 3 hours: We will have a sunrise view early in the morning. Nagarkot lies on top of the hill. This is also a good place to see the Himalayan panorama through a Himalayan river valley. After breakfast, hike for a couple of hours to Chagunarayan temple which is the very old and artistic temple of Nepal that is listed in the old heritage. I had never been trekking before so I was apprehensive about visiting Nepal. Best freelance tour guide

Visiting Nepal for the first time was a great experience and having never trekked before I had no idea what to expect. I was lucky enough to have Santosh as a guide because he is an experienced trekking guide who has experience in the tourist trade and speaks very good English. My girlfriend and I did the Annapurna trek over a 10 day period and could not have chosen a better guide than Santosh. He was very friendly and made us feel welcome by showing us the local culture and recommending the best food to eat whilst trekking and in Kathmandu and Pokhara. When I come back to Nepal in the future Santosh will be the only guide that I want to have whilst trekking.

He has carried us on a tour of 10 days from Kathmandu and through Pokhara until the beautiful mountains of Annapurna. Into the hidden valley of Khumbu

This has been our first time in Nepal. We are very happy about the Trekking in Gokyo Ri, with our guide Santosh. We had a good time in this fantastic place and we have left a magic experience with local people. After the trekking, we have also three days that we have spent in Pokhara, near the lake called Saragkot. Best Himalaya guide

Santosh always ensure our happiness. From being greeted at the airport. It was so nice to have everything organised and catered for as soon as we stepped foot in nepal. The trek was incredible. Santosh has stunning English and the friendliest, kindest personality. It was great to try the traditional mo:mo soup with him, definitely a highlight.

We trek to Everest base camp via Jiri at the begging it was great experience by bus and beautiful jiri. we trek about 7 days from Jiri to Lukla it was quite difficult to walk long hours uphill and down hill but we had really great views and walk through the house of local people. we trek to Everest base camp with out any problem all of us and Mr. Santosh who lead us perfectly everyday. once again if anybody looking for private individual guide try this guy he organize all your trips around Nepal.

Best trek and tour guide

It’s seldom that you end up getting more than you expect. That was the case of our recent trip to the remote villages with Santosh. Santosh took us to the villages and we spent 3 amazing days with his parents and relatives. It was truly amazing to experience a village life in Nepal. We spent hours chatting to his parents, uncle and auntie- of course Santosh was also a great translator 🙂 We learned how to cook the best chicken curry and tried the best Dhal Bhat ever! Santosh is also very knowledgeable person and explained us a lot about local customs, traditions and culture. Santosh is a great person with a lot of great humor We really enjoyed the time spent together and after all we became a good friends! The whole experience was nothing short than awesome ! I would not hesitate to recommend Santosh to anyone looking for a great experience in Nepal!

4 days trek near Pokhara

I and my two friends recently completed the Student Budget Trek with Santosh to Ghorepani Poon Hill, after being recommended to do so by another friend who had completed the same trek with Santosh a year earlier. And I am so glad she did! He organized everything we possibly needed, from picking us up from the airport in Kathmandu to making sure we stayed at a guest house with internet on Christmas Day so we could call our families back in Australia. It was our first time trekking, and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had! I couldn’t recommend this more, and I wish I could stay in Nepal longer and do it all over again.

Great trekking Experience with Santosh!

Santosh has been recommended to us by friends and we are happy that we followed their recommendation! In October 2013, he organized 10 days trekking to the Annapurna region for us, which was great! Everything was well organized and right from the moment, we arrived in Kathmandu. He took care of us as a friend and invited us to his family to join in the Dasain festival celebrations and get a great feel for Nepali village life. Santosh knows a lot about all the different cultures and religions in Nepal and his English is excellent, which makes it very easy to communicate. He and his friend, our porter Ramesh, took good care of us during the trekking and were good company to drink a rum or beer within the evenings. When required, he changed the program when we were too tired or it was raining, always continuing to motivate us to reach base camp. He even went ahead to ensure that we would have room to sleep in, which is quite a challenge during the busy touristic season as we have seen many tourists sleeping on tables and in the kitchen. We would recommend Santosh to anyone traveling to Nepal!!

Wonderful Ghorepani trekking

Giusy and me, we went to Nepal on June 2013. We stayed few days in Kathmandu, and then we did the Ghorepani trek, then Pokhara and came back to the capital city Kathmandu. It was wonderful!!! We relaxed with nature of Nepal and our guide Santosh, he is really knowledgeable and helpful we did not feel alone we were just happy because he was so friendly with us. It was not that difficult trek and it was really nice! We enjoyed visiting villages we cross during our trip, meeting local ethnic group. For Giusy this was the second time in Nepal. She recommended me this trip to Nepal and I really appreciate it! We spent about two weeks in Nepal and each day was unforgettable!

We have to say thank you to Santosh Gauli, who was always with us and worked hard to give us all we need. The weather was not that bad even in offseason time it was quite good view. he changed the itinerary along the trek to let us visit and see the most beautiful places we can instead of original itinerary .He brought us to visit very nice villages, to see mountains and meet local people. We love Nepal so much and maybe, one day, we will come back again…and in that case, we will organize our trip with Santosh, of course! Paradise Ghorepani Poon hill trekking

This was my first time in Nepal,and i met lots of people in Nepal, they are so kind and helpful. I spent 5 month in Nepal for trek and mediation but when i finished meditation i met one guy Santosh!!!!!!!!!!!!! he is so kind and generious and has been a trekking guide since long time in Nepal, he is just smart and knowledgeable. I was in a group of  10 people and we had five porters and one guide (Santosh) they were so nice with all of us. When we arrived in Ghorepani the view was so amazing with rhododendron flowers in the forest and lovely view, there is big mountain called Dhaulagiri which 9th highest mountain in the world ,i feel so happy doing this trip with wonderful friends from Nepal.

I have done some trek outside of Nepal but in Nepal was really special  because of their hospitality, caring, big mountains, many ethnic group and so on. So as a whole my trip to Nepal was unforgettable with my friends and i must say, if someone was planning to organize trekking, tours and climbing, just contract him (Santosh Gauli), he will manage easily your program in Nepal, thank you all my group who support me all the time during the trek and thank you my helper Ramesh, Sudip, manoj, kanchha, rupesh, prem  and my guide Santosh, thank you

Annapurna Base Camp Trek

This was my first time I was traveling alone, and in the case of Asia it was my first time, I was worried a little bit cause I was alone but when I met Santosh I did not feel alone he helped me all the time, as a guardian in the family, he is so kind. Thank you so much Santosh for your kind behavior to me, we went trekking in the Annapurna Region, it was so nice to be there because the view was really close and wonderful from base camp and from Ghorepani. I felt like I was on a different planet. I was not expecting many services in the mountain but it was different really I had a good hotel, good food, the view, people, it was just so nice to be there with my guide Santosh. So i must say that Santosh and his services were better than big trekking companies because I saw some trekkers from a big company but the services were not as good as Santosh’s, I am really happy to meet him, if you go trek with him nothing to think just do it, open your eyes and enjoy. I am sure i will be back as soon as possible for the next trek because there are many interesting trekking routes, I would love that. Nepal’s amazing Short Classic trek

WOW! What an amazing trip! After looking around the Thamel district to find a good price and good company my friend Erica from Australia recommended Santosh. I preferred to go with a local guide rather than a company as the companies do not pay the guides and porters a lot. I knew with a private guide the money would go directly to him. He is a local and gave us a VERY GOOD PRICE beating all other tour operators. The trek was fantastic. Snow-capped mountains, tasty local food all the way, hot showers, warm beds, and lovely accommodation. An experience I shall never forget. I am not a fitness freak or an experienced trekker. This was my first ever trek and it made me realize anybody can do this! Looking forward to planning my next trek with Santosh next year! So much fun!

Best independent trek guide

I and my girlfriend had an excellent trip to Everest Base Camp in mid-October 2012. Santosh Gauli executed his duties as a guide with professionalism and made us feel safe during the trek. Everything from accommodation to flight tickets was booked according to schedule. After the trek, we arrived in Lukla one day earlier according to plan and Santosh even managed to get us on a flight the next day so we didn’t need to stay in Lukla for two nights.

This is an example of how service-minded Santosh is! Santosh knows a lot of people in the Himalayas and it is very comforting to have him as a guide. He is fun to be around and speaks English very well, which makes it easy to communicate. In the end, we didn’t think of Santosh as just a guide, but more like our new Nepalese friend. We give Santosh Gauli our best recommendations and hope that you choose him as a guide for your trek in the Himalayas. It will definitely be one of your most memorable experiences in the mountains!

Amazing Trek

I had an amazing Christmas and New Year thanks to Santosh. He is an incredibly knowledgeable guide who is happy to adapt the trek and program to suit you and the local events. His understanding of the ethnic groups in Nepal made my trek to the Tamang area (Tamang Heritage Trek) even more amazing and, as it was the off-season, we were welcomed into families kitchens and made to feel more like a visiting relative than a trekker passing through.

We then made our way to the magnificent Langtang valley, across the amazing Gosaikunda Pass, finishing just north of Kathmandu. Santosh then took me to Pokhara for the New Year street festival. A fantastic trip with a very professional and thoughtful guide.

Experienced trekking guide

Just came back from Nepal and would like to recommend a trekking guide Santosh Gauli. Santosh was our tour guide to a remote village and a short hike to Dhampus. Santosh can speak good English and have good years of trekking experience in different base camps. Though we did not follow him for a long trek, we enjoyed the few day’s visits with him, as he is very communicative and caring.  He put every effort to ensure that we enjoyed our trip. Since he grew up in the village and received his university education in Kathmandu, he could share with you a lot about Nepal both village life and city life.

Excellence trekking guide in Nepal

The trip to Nepal was a great experience.  I organized the tour (10 days) with Santosh Gauli. Very good flexibility on his part to change the program to suit our needs (both of time and things to see). Santosh welcomed us at the airport and we have always followed the best.
