The Manaslu trek guide is one of the finest treks in Nepal. It has only recently opened to tourists and offers a once in a lifetime experience to explore the beautiful, rugged northern border of Nepal with Tibet. This is a remote wilderness area, relatively untouched by tourism and rich in wildlife and culture, and is an excellent alternative to the Annapurna Circuit.

The Manaslu trek guide begins in the fascinating ancient city of Gorkha (the ancestral home of the Nepalese monarchy and the home to the world-famous infantrymen). It then follows the Buri Gandaki Valley over the thunderous River, under towering cliffs, and through dense Jungle. As you ascend you will experience many landscapes and climatic zones until you reach the lunar Tibetan Plateau. The trail now lined with temples, Chortens, and Monasteries. The scenery here is magnificent and your panorama includes Himalchuli (7,893 m), Peak 29 (7,835 m), and the mighty Mt. Manaslu (8,118 m – the eighth highest mountain in the world). The high point of this trek is the crossing of the Larkya La Pass (5,213 m). From here there are unsurpassed views of Himlung Himal (7,125 m), Cheo Himal (6,820 m), Kang Guru (6,981 m), and Annapurna II (7,939 m). You then descend into the Marshyangdi valley and onto Besisahar to complete your trek.

The culture and traditions of the people in this area remain intact as it is a conservation area. The Manaslu trek guide gives you the chance to explore primitive villages where westerners are still a rare sight and where the way of life has lain unchanged for decades, even centuries. The region is mainly inhabited by the Gurung people who mainly practice Buddhism but as you travel north into the Nupri region the area is populated by descendants of Tibetan immigrants. This amazing contrast of culture and scenery will leave you with unforgettable memories and a desire to explore this beautiful region further.
